Soul Amplifying

We speak so easily about work that is soul destroying. I can’t remember the last time I heard anyone describe their work as soul amplifying.

I know what it feels like, though. For a stretch of my pharma career, I met regularly with industry peers to co-author a publication calling for compassionate use to be harmonised across Europe. It was considered “extra curricular”… not essential to the business. A couple colleagues questioned why I was spending my time on it, and what was in it for the company.

And every time we met, I felt open hearted and energised. I was in community with people who also wanted to make an impact, and I felt truly alive at work… and these exchanges fuelled me through the aspects of my role that did not light me up, but were essential.

So I listened to my gut. I knew the publication was a meaningful initiative which would turn up the volume on the voice of our shared purpose. That paper was published earlier this year.

Our bodies know the difference between what diminishes us and what amplifies us, long before our minds find a way to justify it. We just so rarely stop to listen.

This is why I consider myself a Soul Embodiment Coach. It is my soul’s calling to help people come back to the language of their bodies… to feel where the ember glows, and to trust it enough to follow… in relation to self, loved ones, and colleagues (noting that sometimes they overlap!)

What amplifies your soul? Your body already knows. Do you know how to listen?
